Really how are you? Have you asked yourself how you are lately? Have you stopped to listen? So often when greeting each other we stick to the pleasantries of well thanks or fine thanks and they are often just greetings in passing, life too hectic to allow us to pause and lend an ear to the person who is not so fine or if we are the ones not so fine we do not wish to burden anyone with our stuff so mere fine thanks will suffice.
But do you ever ask yourself how you are and give yourself the time to answer? I know it might sound strange and you do not literally have to ask the question but rather sit with yourself for a few moments of reconnection to your breath and your body. Notice where you might be holding more tension than normal or if there is an emotion that is close to the surface that could be released.
With the pace of life and the demands on us 24/7 we might feel that we do not have the luxury of slowing down or taking time out for ourselves but it doesn’t have to be huge amounts of time, 5-10 minutes of conscious breathing helps to calm the mind and soothe the heart and bring a sense of reconnection back to self. We are constantly distracted so it can be easy to avoid oneself, especially if things are uncomfortable. It is often in the silence that emotions come up to be seen and felt and sometimes it can be overwhelming but once acknowledged, seen, & felt they usually dissipate fairly quickly. When we don’t allow them to surface they begin to create blockages in the energy field which if not cleared, eventually manifest into physical aches/pains/tension/illness.
This evening we have a deeply intense full moon in the sign of Scorpio. Scorpio together with Pluto call for a deep dive into the underworld. So know that if you are feeling heavier than usual or are going through something challenging and difficult, it is no co-incidence. The deep feelings are coming up to be seen and felt so they can be transmuted. All that we have been avoiding and the anything that has been swept under the carpet will rise to the surface to be dealt with.
This full moon is also known as the Wesak full moon, representing the birth, death and enlightenment of the Buddha. So even though there may be discomfort around there is huge potential for deep transformation and healing, for allowing the wisdom of your soul to rise to the surface and guide you forward into the unknown.
2025 continues to be a year of major transformation, being a number 9 year (endings of cycles) and represented by the energy of the snake, there is likely to be a lot of shedding of old outdated belief systems, limitations, situations and events that are no longer serving your highest good.
Growth is messy and hard at times but it brings with it a certain sense of liberation that only comes when we allow ourselves to walk through the fire and rise like the phoenix into the truest expression of who we are.
So take some time this full moon to pause and reflect on how you are. Are you happy with how things are right now? If not, what is one small change you can make to move yourself to where you want to be? Start small, just one step at a time and as Buddha famously said, “Quiet the mind and the soul will speak”.
